There are plenty of Pokémon that get given evolutions after years, or crafted into a regional variant, or chosen for a Battle Gimmick form change, etc. and those things are super cool, however there are some limits. There are some Pokémon that have so successfully nailed their initial premise that there's nothing left for them to do, and so they should never be altered in such ways to take away from their importance!
