Vacutainer Vacuum Effect 🩸💉 #RN #BSN #futurenurse
💉🩸Vacutainers
→ You may see a flash of blood return with a butterfly needle, but may not with a straight blood draw needle! (It all depends on which type you use)
→ When attaching, blood will flow into the tube if you had successful entrance into the vein. It might drip slowly if partially in or if you’re against a valve
→ DO NOT use the same tube again if you’re trying a new spot! The vacuum seal is now broken, so the force to suck the blood into the tube won’t be as strong. Use a new tube!
→ Always be sure to dispose of sharps & utilized material after your blood draw!
Did you know this about the vacuum effect?!

A message from Kristine, founder of NurseInTheMaking📣
My name is Kristine and I survived nursing school…and you can too!
Nurse In The Making was inspired during my time in nursing school. I immediately struggled and decided to create my own study guides. These guides have helped me personally as well as many others make nursing school just a little more manageable.I hope you find comfort knowing that everyone struggles at times. Nursing school is emotionally and physically draining. I hope these informative, clean, and simple guides help you navigate through all the information because there is A LOT of it in nursing school.
Happy Studying Future Nurses. Don't forget to enjoy the jou
