“Kang, 20, was charged with attempted second-degree murder and armed burglary after he assaulted his gaming rival with a hammer. The two had never met in real life but were both players of the online game ArcheAge.”
“Last Thursday, Kang told his mom he was visiting a friend he met online. Instead, he flew to Jacksonville, took an Uber to a hotel, and bought a hammer. At 2 a.m. Sunday, he showed up at the victim’s home, which was unlocked. When the victim walked out of his bedroom, Kang attacked him with the hammer.”
“Thankfully, the victim’s stepfather intervened, helping to restrain Kang until the police arrived. The victim suffered head wounds but is expected to recover. Kang, who said the victim was a ‘bad person online,’ was arrested and is being held without bond.”
