@Tgungen

0:54 You should've mentioned that the reason why Goring got arrested for asking, that was because Hitler's personal secretary Martin Bormann intercepted the letter and made it sound like Goring was about to launch a coup, so Hitler thought Goring betrayed him

“Toothbrush mustache having Austrian man” by far the best and most funniest way of trying to bypass YouTubes moderation

@nightdragonx123

Italy: The Fez Wearing Italian Man
Germany: The Toothbrush Mustashed Austrian Man
Japan: (insert Tojo here)

@jensonkiin3678

Love how YT doesn't let you say the name of the 'toothbrush mustache-having Austrian man' but is perfectly ok with Heinrich Himmler, Hermann Goering, Joseph Goebbels and the mentioning of the SS.

“Toothbrush mustache having Austrian man”

@carltonleboss

Imagine not being able to mention Hitler in a video about Germany in WW2...

@chear8145

"Checked if his skull was bullet proof" bro that is the driest humor i have heard from them lol

@JustDevon1

Doenitz: Why am I in charge?
Germany: Process of elimination
Doenitz: Oh God!!

@MTTT1234

That censorship of Youtube is getting pretty weird at that point. It feels like we are in the Harry Potter universe where magic people are too afraid of name a certain person.

Keep up your great work there, History Matters. Always a pleasure to watch your videos.

@Cosmic8099

Guess the skull wasn’t bulletproof

@will_it_work

Doenitz did get a large amount of German troops out of the Baltics and into Germany in a massive naval evacuation after the technical surrender. In this he was very successful.

@Rotarrin

Love the use of insistent terminology to avoid demonetization, while also turning it into a running gag. Top-tier narration/writing.

"Toothbrush mustache having Austrian man"

This has that vibe of "the fez wearing italian man". I feel like this video was censored by YouTube before he uploaded it. You can't name the guy because of some unknown reason...

Great video as always!

@nonameuserua

Hungary: we don’t have fleet anymore, so let’s appoint the commander-in-chief of the fleet to lead the country
Germany: may I copy your homework?

@Ruosteinenknight

Dönitz was apparently his second choice. He originally thought to have Albert Kesselring who was in command of southern forces to take over, but Italian front collapsed faster than he realized (plus Kesselring had been in secret contant with the Allies to surrender his contingent of the german forces, but he changed his in the mind last minute), so Dönitz whom Hitler believed was truly loyal took first place.

Dönitz had actually defied Hitler as well: he had started operation Hannibal in late of -44 to evacuate civilians and soldiers alike from courland pocket, against Hitler's orders, but Hitler didn't know it at the time.

Because James Bissonnette was too busy

"Checked if his skull was bullet proof"

HM has such a dry humor that is incredible.

@sharkronical

I love that this is posted around the same time as WW2 week by week’s cover this

@sskuk1095

"The toothbrush mustache having Austrian!" Is gonna be the new "This enraged his father, who punished him severely!" line!

@JA432123

I’ve been watching your videos for years but 0:03 might be your darkest best “death” joke ever
